School Based Health Clinic

 General Notices

Our school has a School Based Health Service which is funded by the government and provides free health care for all students in several secondary schools and kura in Hawke’s Bay.

All Year 9 rangatahi will be invited to have a health conversation with the school nurse, based on our service model Te Ūkaipō.  This promotes a young person’s physical, mental, social, spiritual and emotional wellbeing thus supporting their learning and school performance. The health conversation provides an opportunity to assist and improve health outcomes for all rangatahi and encourages positive youth development.

School nurses have experience working with children and adolescents in schools and community settings, and they work collaboratively with the school staff, teachers, Deans, School Guidance Counsellors, General Practice, hospital specialists and other health providers.  They are also available to see students from other year groups for health advice and support.

You can contact the health service through the school or
Rebecca Holes 027 244 0268, Kim Merwood 027 599 9461.
