Basketball
During the holidays, a group of CHBC students stepped up to form a last minute basketball team competing in a tournament against representative teams from Hawke's Bay, Bay of Plenty, Manawatu and Wairarapa.
After a tough loss in the first game, the team then went on a four game winning streak to make it to the final where they eventually lost against Hawke's Bay A. This was extremely impressive, even more so because most of the players hadn't played with each other before.
A huge congratulations to the following players: Lance Hunt, Taikura Galbraith, Manaia Galbraith, Carlos Hutcheson, Jhian Cedrick de Leon and Hayden Hemi.
A huge thanks also to Mr Matt Hemi for managing the team and Mr Rich Galbraith for stepping in to coach.
Golf Tournament
Congratulations to Cameron Harrison who competed in The Special Olympics Golf Tournament in Taupo on the weekend. Cameron won a silver medal in the 18 hole first division.
Smallbore Shooting at Ruahine Smallbore Club
After a quick introduction by Mr Chris Harrison, a large group of students enrolled to participate in the 10-week shooting program last week. These students were from a variety of schools across CHB.
Four of these students are from CHB College. It was a fun evening, and students got to shoot 2 rounds (squads) of 12 shots each.
