There has been a lot of coverage in the media recently about the new school lunches provided by the new school lunches collective. Most of this coverage has been negative, pointing out all the flaws in the new system and exacerbating the teething problems that have been experienced.
We are very lucky to be part of this programme and it continues to work well here at CHBC, the lunches – while not always following the menu – have always arrived on time and are generally met with satisfaction and enjoyment by the students. The snacks, fruit, yoghurt, Bhuja mix, Scroggin and brownies, that accompany the lunches are particularly popular and are always available for collection outside Mr Christiansen’s office.
While last year we had a local supplier and even if this model is not the best fit for CHBC, we are making it work and it is a great thing that students get to have a healthy and nutritious lunch each day.
You can see that Hannah and Hope both enjoy and look forward to the lunch each day.
