Reality Check: Get Future Ready!

 Events

📢 Calling all Year 12 & 13 students! 📢

Join us for an exciting opportunity to highlight the non-academic skills and achievements that are crucial as you transition from secondary education to further training or employment.

🗓 When: Wednesday, 26th March, during school time
📍 Where: Central Hawke’s Bay College
🤝 Who: Hosted by Jobs in Central Hawke’s Bay in partnership with Central Hawke’s Bay College and our local Skills, Training & Employment Network.

Objective: The Reality Check is designed to provide a benchmark for students and their mentors to measure current progress and identify gaps. This is not a judgment on your current level of achievement, but a chance to see where you stand and how you can improve.

What to Expect:

  • Meet community providers including CHB Budgeting services, Connect Driver Licensing, Complete Coaching, EIT Waipukurau, Central Hawke’s Bay District Libraries, Hawke’s Bay Community Law, Sports Hawke’s Bay, Studylink, Te Taiwhenua O Heretaunga, Te Taiwhenua O Tamatea, Ministry of Social Development, and The Jobs and Skills Hub.
  • Work through a booklet to complete activities and interact with each provider. Every completed booklet goes into the prize draw!
  • Receive real-time feedback using a traffic light system:
    🔴 Red – Unsure/Incompetent
    🟠 Orange – Some Understanding
    🟢 Green – Competent
  • Check out the promo video

What's Next: Following the Reality Check, CHB College and Jobs in Central Hawke’s Bay, with the support of our local Skills, Training & Employment Network, will provide follow-up workshops and training opportunities throughout the rest of the year via after-hours Connect to Learn sessions at Te Huinga Wai – helping you to ‘get to GREEN!’.

We look forward to seeing you there and supporting you on your journey to success! 🚀
