Girls Football
This year the girl’s tournament was held in Taupo, similar to the boys they had a tough but enjoyable week of football playing versus a variety of schools and Colleges that we would not normally get to play. The team finished the tournament strongly with a 2 - 0 win over Kamo High school. A huge thanks to Coach Bob Morgan for his work not only during the week but the whole season and to Mrs London and Mrs Finlay for being there to help out.
All referees awarded a score out of five for Fair Play in each game – reflecting identified respect for officials and opposition, courtesy and enjoyment of the game. After seven games three schools had a perfect score of thirty-five. That is a notable achievement in an event where the level of respect was extremely high.
The referees drew a winner, Tauhara College, from a hat but Central Hawkes Bay College and Sacred Heart College were equally deserving. NZSS Football congratulate all three teams. They were a credit to their school and all contributed significantly to the positive culture present throughout the week.
The referees also would like to thank our staff and team management for their supportive contribution to such a special group of girls.

Boys Football
The boys once again travelled to New Plymouth, it was a tough week of great football. The weather had a huge effect on the games. Despite a run of tough losses, the team never lost spirit and always gave their best. The 1st XI is a young squad this year and the tournament is good preparation for the future. Thanks to Coach Anthony Littlejohn for all his work through the season and Dave Hewer for looking after the team and keeping them well fed.

Netball
Well done to our 12 senior netball players who were a part of our Senior Premier team competing at the LINSS netball tournament held in Napier last week.
They won two of their first three games, along with two other teams in their starting pool so it came down to point differential to who progressed to the top 16 of the grade. Unfortunately, we ended up being placed 3rd in the pool and therefore knocked out of the top 16th after the second day of the competition. We also lost one of our team’s shooters due to injury after the second game. However, they continued to do their best, winning three more games of their next six to place 22nd overall out of 32 teams.
Thank you to Miss Holmes for doing an amazing job of coaching the team over the week, Mrs Mackey for her support as Team Manager, Mrs Anderson for umpiring and Lucy Mackow for being Bench Official (after a late injury meant she was unable to play).
Tournament Team: Sophie Strong, Misty Schaumkel, Zara Mackey, Sheridan Linklater, Melia Nielsen, Talia TeAtua Pere, Tyler Camden , Cassidy Cudby, Ella Barrett, Brooklyn Huata, Leila Heremaia, and
Jhvarna Hunt.
