Early this week Sport Hawke's Bay came to CHB College to meet with our Sport's Council and fellow students from Te Aute College.
The students had a session touching on celebrating our volunteers, enabling them to think outside the square on what our volunteers in sport sacrifice to be able to coach, officiate or drive our students to games.
They had a boxing "box fit" session taken by Sara Corbett which tested their fitness, but was highly enjoyed by all.
During the day, the participants listened to speakers - (former student) Bradley Booth - working his way up to the line as a Hockey umpire, Olivia Shannon - sharing her experiences as a high performance hockey player and Black Sticks Captain, and Joel Hintz - Magpies rugby player and power lifting champion. These speakers shared their stories that enabled them to get where they are now and were truly inspirational, especially having two of them living in CHB. They encouraged our students to chase their goals, as they did.
A huge thanks goes to Olivia and Kate from Sport Hawke's Bay for allowing us to host this session at our own College.
Speakers L to R Joel Hintz, Olivia Shannon, Bradley Booth
