School-links is a Ministry of Education approved provider of Early Attendance Notification which

enables the College to send notification about student absences directly to parents/caregivers by

text message and/or e-mail. THE CELL PHONE NUMBER USED DOES NOT BELONG TO THE COLLEGE.

This means you cannot use the number to send us information at a later stage, you can only reply

to the text sent to you. The office can view your recorded replies to the text or emails we send.

We can also receive secure electronic messages from parents/caregivers for student absences in

advance, by email.

TO SET UP AN ACCOUNT FOR EMAIL go to http://www.school-links.org.nz where a School-links account will be activated for you. You will then receive an email confirmation with a login and temporary password to gain access to the College attendance link. Then you can go onto the School Links page and login using your Username and Password to let us know if your child will be absent. Please check your contact details are correct by clicking on the ‘My Profile’ link at the top of the page. If details are incorrect, please click ‘Edit My Profile’ on the right-hand-side of the page to correct them. Change your password to something meaningful to yourself and keep it secure, especially from your children. You can use this link to let us know when your child will be away from school. For full day absences you may also use the School App or email to: absence@chbc.school.nz

Please notify the office by 8:30am if your child is not at school.

For appointments or part day absences, please phone the office (06 8589203) and leave a message, clearly state your child’s name and reason for absence or write and send a note or note in the school diary.

Please remind students that they must sign in and out at the office.

Central Hawke’s Bay College App

Our School App is available for all parents to download.  This is a very useful app which allows you to view Notices, Newsletters and contact details for teachers.  It also has a link into the Parent Portal on Kamar and you can receive alerts for information, especially in an Emergency situation.  It also is the quickest and easiest method for parents/caregivers/whānau to advise us if your student is not going to be at school.

Simply go to the App Store on your Apple or Android Device and Search 'Central Hawke's Bay College' to download the App to your phone or tablet.

Note:  Our school App supplier has changed (last year).  If you have downloaded the App "SchoolAppsNZ" you will need to uninstall and install our Sporty School App.
