Trampoline Nationals

Kegan Kirk, Caitlin Kirk, Sophia Coddington and Callum Pearce all attended the National Trampoline Championships at Mercury Bay stadium in Mount Maunganui as members of the Hawke’s Bay Poverty Bay trampoline team. This was Callum and Sophia’s first time at a National Championship and while unplaced they will have benefited from the experience. 

 

Kegan competed in the Men’s 17 -21 section finished 3rd in the National Double Mini Trampoline. 3rd in the FIG International trampoline, 2nd in the FIG International Tumbling.  He was 1st in the FIG International Synchro Trampoline with Jack West from Waikato and as such is a National Champion.


Caitlin competed in the Women’s 15-16 events and finished 4th in the Double Mini Trampoline. 5th in the Women’s Trampoline, 10th in the Women’s Tumbling and 4th in the Synchro Trampoline.


Former student Lachie Kirk also competed in the Canterbury Team and had a very successful time.  Competing in the FIG International Senior Men’s competitions he finished 1st in both Tumbling and Double Mini Trampoline, 2nd in the Individual Trampoline and 2nd in the Synchro Trampoline. 

 

These results meant Lachie became the Overall National Champion for FIG International Senior Men Trampoline and Double Mini. Lachie also competed in the NZ team for the Trans-Tasman Challenge against Australia and NZ won both Challenges for Double Mini and Trampoline.

 

 

Marching Competition

Sabrina Horrocks, Sacha Horrocks and Alexis Maulder are travelling to Australia this week to represent New Zealand with their team the Buckingham Guards Under 16 Marching Team.  They will be competing at the Australia and New Zealand Marching Tattoo on the Gold Coast. Best of luck with the competition.

 

Highland Dancing

Caydee Whittle, Georgia Whittle, and Molly Kyle attended the New Zealand Highland Dancing Championship, Premiership of Taranaki, Pre-Championship and Pre-Premier events over holidays.

 

Caydee gained 6th overall in the New Zealand Open Championship 16 years+ and 3rd Overall for the Premiership of Taranaki.

 

In the Pre-Championship Georgia won the 14 yr old category and Molly was runner up in the 15yrs +. 

 

Well done.

 

Caydee, Georgia and Molly along with Belle Ward, Taylor Annand and Amy Bibby travel to Gosford in NSW Australia for the International Highland Dancing Championships Australia next week.  We wish them well.
