Well done to our students that competed in the Hatuma Half Marathon as part of the CHB College and Bluelight team on Sunday September 18th. The Competitors were:

Individual 21.1km run- Gray Smith, Benji Kynoch, Jude Kynoch, and Cove Lambert

Individual 10km run - Lucy Fraser

Team 21.1km run- Jhian De Leon and Aaron Benson (2-person team) and Caitlin Kirk, Paige Franklin, JD Mananes and Kegan Kirk (4-person team)

Thank you to our local police, for providing this opportunity for our students to be active and compete in the Hatuma Half Marathon by paying for their entries as well providing on course support on the day by Constable Andy Walker. Constables Che Lind, Olivia Tilyard, Ashleigh Renata and Kurtis Maney also provided some friendly competition with their own 4-person team.

Our 4-person team of Caitlin Kirk, Paige Franklin, JD Mananes and Kegan Kirk gained 1st place in the mixed team category and 2nd place overall out of all of the teams competing. Well done team.

Year 10 student Jack Hunt also competed in the Half Marathon and placed 8th male and 10th overall in an incredible time of 1h 30min 31sec. Congratulations Jack a great result.

Three staff also competed on the day. Mrs Judy Shepherd and Mr Sam Kordan formed a 2-person team to complete the 21.1km distance and Mrs Tess Tennent completed the whole 21.1km with her 11-year-old son. Well done staff.

Lastly, a big thank you to all students and staff that helped out on day on the BBQ, at aid stations or marshalling. This is a big community event that without your support wouldn’t have been so successful.
