National Trampoline Competition

Lachie Kirk, Kegan Kirk, Caitlin Kirk and Kerrin Harrison competed as part of the Hawkes Bay / Poverty Bay team at the Trampoline Nationals in Invercargill in the first week of the holidays.

 

Results:

 

Lachie:

1st and National Champion senior Mens tumbling - with Worlds age group qualification

8th - Senior Mens Double Mini with World Open qualification and World age Group qualification

8th - Senior Mens Individual trampoline- with World age group Qualification.

5th - Synchro trampoline Senior Mens with Jack from Waikato

NZ team should be announced in the next 4-6 weeks

 

Kegan:

1st - 15-16 Mens Synchro trampoline with Kerrin

2nd - 15-16 Mens Double Mini

4th - 15-16 Mens individual trampoline

 

Caitlin:

2nd - 13-14 Womens Double mini

2nd - 15-16 Womens Synchro with Tegan from Gisborne

4th - 13-14 Womens tumbling

10th - 13-14 Womens individual trampoline

 

Kerrin

7th double mini age group 15-16

7th trampoline age group 15-16

1st synchro with Kegan age group 15-16

 

Also, Lachie and 2 other girls from Gisborne won the power tumbling team cup.

Plus we brought home The Cook Straight Cup for the North Island win (given to all North Island competitors) but Ricochet got to bring it home.

Equestrian Games

Congratulations to former student Dylan Bibby represented New Zealand in the FEI Youth Equestrian Games in Aachen (Germany) in July.  He won the right to represent New Zealand alongside 29 others from 30 continents at the event, which replaced the scheduled 2022 Youth Olympic Games.  Dylan competed well although he did not finish in the medals.  Well done Dylan.

 

Representative Hockey

Over the holidays Emily Brun, Emma Johnson and Gray Smith were selected for regional hockey under 18 Tournaments. Emily and Emma were selected as members of the Hawke’s Bay Women’s Under 18 hockey team that played in the National Championships in Nelson, finishing runners up, losing their only game of the tournament to Canterbury in the final. Emily was also the second highest goal scorer at the event scoring 6 goals overall.  Gray was selected as a member of the Hawke’s Bay Men’s Under 18 hockey team that played in the National Championships in Palmerston North finishing 8th out of the 20 teams.  Well done on your efforts. 

Bradley Booth attended the U16 Hockey Tournament held in Hamilton during the holidays as an Umpire. He was given the honour of refereeing the final. Well done Brad
