In most cases, these are scheduled for 14 – 15 September. This programme is primarily about offering students the opportunity to experience activities that are new to them, but it is also important for developing team work and cooperation skills. Past students have identified their Year 10 Journey as a highlight of their time at the College. Past journeys have included destinations to Paihia, Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington, Tongariro and closer to Napier / Hastings and have involved activities such as skiing, adventure tourism and mountain biking.
A brief description of each Journey will be offered at the beginning of Term 2 for students to decide which one interests them most. Once students have selected a Journey, they will be able to collect a detailed itinerary and cost of what is involved.
Due to the costs of some trips, a facility is available to set up an automatic payment so that the cost is more manageable. Some trips will also provide fundraising opportunities.
