On Monday evening the annual Rotary Speech Competition was held at the College. Six Junior and six
Senior students were speaking on a variety of subjects from small town to wider world issues. The competition was very close, with all participants displaying excellent oratory skills while completing their speeches.
The winner of the junior section was Vann Harley with his speech on "True Confessions of a High Achiever" and the senior section was won by Isobel Llyod with her speech of "Beauty Standards - a personal poem". Isobel was also awarded the W. R. Simmons Cup for best speech of the evening. Thank you very much to the Waipukurau Rotary Club for their continued support for this evening and to Mrs Kitto for her organisation of the event. Thank you also to the judges - Mrs Catie Avery, Mr Exham Wichman and our Principal, Mr Christiansen.
