Central Hawke’s Bay College is a small co-educational rural school of around 522 students based in Waipukurau in the heart of the Central Hawke’s Bay region.

The school was established in 1959 from Waipawa and Waipukurau District High Schools. The college is made up of 38% Maori and 58% European students. The majority of our Maori students are from Ngati Kahungunu and the college has strong links with the local iwi.

The school has strong community support and an excellent reputation as a school who give their students an excellent all round education. The school has modern facilities and expansive grounds which include a small farm next to the school.
