Message from the Principal – 25 July 2024

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa

Welcome back to the start of Term Three. I hope everyone had the opportunity to find some time to spend with family and some down time to relax. This term is traditionally another very busy one in which our seniors need to ensure they manage their time well.  Assessment Week for seniors is in Week 9, the 16th to 20th September, and there will be many other assessments due over the term.

The first weekend of the holidays also saw the senior students involved in the School Ball in Waipawa. Well done to the Ball Committee who did a fantastic job putting on the evening, Under the Stars, that was enjoyed by those present.  I would also like to thank the PTA for providing the food and for those staff and students who helped in any way to make the event so successful.

Another thank you to those parents and caregivers who attended our Senior Conferences in the last days of Term Two. The ability to talk face to face with your children’s teachers has a real benefit to assist in making future pathways easier for them. If anyone still has concerns or would like to talk to their children’s teachers, please feel free to contact the school.

Uniform

With the winter weather continuing it is important that students wear the correct school uniform.  A reminder that the school has polar fleece and warm jackets which can be purchased from the school office, along with school beanies. Students must be prepared for the cold weather by having the correct uniform. Wearing non-uniform items is not acceptable and they will be confiscated. Any issues that result in your child not having the correct uniform please provide a note.  We can support them with their temporary replacement uniform needs at the school office.

SCHOOL VALUES: ~ EXCELLENCE ~ HIRANGA ~

“He mea nui tew a, he mea nui te ako” - 'Time is precious, learning is important'.

This whakatauki talks about people making the most of their time and opportunities.  This term there will be many opportunities for students to make the most of their time at school.
