Message from the Principal - 11 November 2021
Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa.
With less than a week of class time to go for our seniors and with juniors starting their school exams in a few weeks it is a good time to remind students about their time management. Seniors have been completing their internal portfolios and undertaking revision activities. In order to best prepare for the external exams they need to ensure they have a revision programme worked out and know when their external exams are being held. There is an exam timetable attached, which will help them highlight when their exams are timetabled.
It is important that students turn up for these exams as they may prove vital for their future plans and also for those school subjects they may wish to take in 2022. Often these exams are the difference for students’ success in gaining Endorsements for particular subjects.
All students’ have been given information about exam requirements and we encourage them to turn up early and be prepared with the equipment they will need for each exam. Most of all we want them to always do their best and use the time they have been given wisely.
Once they leave the exam room they can not go back and it is important that they check they have answered everything required when they are in the exam room.
We wish every student undertaking the NCEA exams all the best. May you reap the rewards of your hard work and show the potential that you have.

Face Masks on School Buses
Since the start of Term four, the wearing of face masks on school buses for children over 12 has been mandatory. This law has been put into place to assist in keeping everyone safe on the bus during the current pandemic. Thank you to those students who are following this mandate and wearing their face masks.
We are aware of a few students who do not follow this rule and they are being reminded to do as required. Unfortunately, if students persist in not wearing a mask they will be removed from the bus and asked to find an alternative way of getting to school. If your child is in this situation, you will be contacted by staff to inform you and we anticipate your support in ensuring our students are following the law.
If your child has a health issue or disability that means they can not wear a mask they can get an exemption from a medical practitioner.
