Recipes for Year 10 students





                                                Thai Sweet Chilli Mince
Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • ¼ onion
  • ¼ carrot
  • ¼ parsnip
  • ¼ c cabbage
  • 1 t oil
  • 100 g mince
  • ¼ c pasta
  • ¾ c water
  • 1 T Thai sweet chilli sauce
  • Method

  •  Prepare vegetables – crush garlic, slice onion and cabbage, dice carrot and parsnip.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mince, onion and garlic and cook until brown.
  • Add carrot, parsnip, pasta, water and Thai sweet chilli sauce.
  • Simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Add cabbage. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Serve garnished with chives.

                                Chilli con Carne

    Ingredients

  • 1 t oil
  • ¼ onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Pinch of each: Cumin
  • Oreganum
  • Paprika
  • 100 g mince
  • Pinch salt
  • ½ t sugar
  • 1 T tomato puree
  • ½ c water
  • ½ c baked beans
  • Method

    • Heat oil and sauté onion and garlic.
    • Add spices and mince and cook for 1 minute.
    • Add sugar, salt, tomato puree and water.
    • Simmer for 15 minutes.
    • Add baked beans, heat through and serve.
