                Recipes for Year 9 students



                        Scones

Ingredients
1c flour
2 t baking powder
Pinch salt
30 g butter
1/2 c milk

Method

  • Preheat oven to 220:C.Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.

  • Rub in butter using finger tips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

  • Mix in milk lightly with a knife to form a soft dough.

  • Turn onto a lightly floured board and roll to 1.5 cm thickness.

  • Sprinkle with a filling like cinnamon sugar or cheese and roll up.

  • Cut into 4 scones and place on a baking tray.

  • Bake in the hot oven for 10 minutes.

                    







                          
 Egg Nests

Ingredients
1 potato
1T oil
1 egg
1T grated cheese

Method

  • Peel the potato. Dice into 1 cm cubes and dry well on a paper towel.

  • Heat oil in a frypan. Add diced potato and cook until lightly golden.

  • Drop egg into the centre of the potatoes and cover with cheese.

  • With lid on, cook over a low heat until the egg is set.

  • Serve garnished with parsley.
