Food & Nutrition



Food and Nutrition is taught at all levels in the school - from Year 9 to Year 13.
Classes are available for students in short blocks of a few weeks, half year and full year options.
There is a focus on the teaching of nutrition and healthly options of food.
Students have practical lessons at least once a week making a wide range of dishes and meals.




               Whats for dinner?
Try this month's recipe

                    
Coconut Fish Curry

Ingredients

100g Hoki fillets
1/2 t grated ginger
1/2 lemon
1/4 onion
1/4 t curry powder
1/4 t tumeric
1/4 t chilli powder
1/4 c coconut milk
Oil


Method

  1. Marinate the fish in the ginger, lemon zest and lemon juice for 20 minutes.
  2. Saute onions, add spice and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the coconut milk
  4. Add fish and marinade and simmer gently until cooked.
  5. Serve on a bed of rice with a green salad.
