Our school was created in 1959 and in just over a half century Central Hawke’s Bay College has established a tremendous record of success. Academically our best are the best in Hawke’s Bay. A bright and positive country school of 620 students, our school is ideally situated an hour north of Palmerston North and half an hour south of Hastings. In recent years the top Hawke’s Bay Scholarship students have been Dux of Central Hawke’s Bay College. The variety and quality of our ultra-curricular involvements are amazing for a relatively small school. Our sporting, music, kapahaka, drama and Duke of Edinburgh programmes are well supported and add much to the lives of our young people.Central Hawke’s Bay College has begun a major physical transformation as it neared fifty years of existence. A comprehensive re-building programme began in 2005, as did a complete strategic re-charting of its medium term future. From this a simple but compelling Learning Vision has emerged which will guide and direct our considerable energies in the years to come.
