COURSE CONTENT

The Year 13 Physical Education Advanced (13PEA) course contributes 24 credits towards the Level 3 National Certificate in Educational Achievement (NCEA) and is covered in 4 Modules of work.

Module 1: “I want to be Tiger Woods” (3.3 & 3.4)

This will involve you:

· Videoing your initial golf swing and your final performance of the golf swing and analysing the changes made.

· Designing a series of practice sessions to improve your golf swing and evaluating the implementation of these.

· Playing a 9 hole game of golf

Module 2: “Run Forrest Run” (3.1, 3.2 and 3.4)

You will:

· fitness testing yourself

· setting some goals related to your personal definition of hauora

· designing a training programme to reach these goals

· Performing the training programme you have designed

· Evaluating your performance in the training programme

Module 3: “Making a difference for Year 9” (3.6)

· Collect evidence of and critically analyse factors that influence participation in physical activity of year 9 students while at CHBC college.

· Explain the proposed action to promote physical activity with the year 9 students and explain in detail how this action will minimise barriers, influence participation, and contribute to health promotion.

· Implement the proposed action.

· Critically evaluate the action taken to promote physical activity with the year 9 students and explain modifications for future action.

Module 4: “Are kiwi kids becoming fat and lazy? “ (3.5)

You will complete an assignment examining
